Bible Study: St. Paul, “Steward of the Mysteries”

Pope Benedict XVI has invited the Universal Church to join in a Jubilee Year honoring St. Paul on the 2,000th Anniversary of his birth. The celebration began with the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul on June 29, 2008 and concludes on June 29, 2009.

Fr. David is offering a Bible study on the writings of St. Paul entitled “Steward of the Mysteries,” reflecting on the writings of St. Paul and the seven Sacraments. Future meetings will be on Thursday evenings from 7–8pm in the Harshbarger Room on the following dates: Dec. 4 & 11. Study materials will be provided; please contact the office if you are interested in joining us.

Calling all Musicians

If you sing or play an instrument (especially piano!), the music ministry would love to have you! We meet 30-45 min. prior to each Mass, with an additional optional weekly rehearsal time TBA. Everyone is welcome! If you are interested in being a Cantor for any of the Masses, please be sure to get in touch with Phil. We’d love to get a big choir at a few of the weekend Masses this year! For more information, please email Phil at ptorbert@psu.edu or call the office at 865-4281.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament • Fridays

“God is constantly invading our world with his nearness. Is it any wonder then that he takes bread and wine, the staples of the table with which he feeds us, and surrounds and endows them with his life?”

Every Friday we have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Meditation Chapel. Please consider making this part of your Friday routine by reserving a time slot for the whole semester. As a suggestion, you and a friend might reserve an hour or a half-hour slot and between the two of you we can rest assured that someone is present in the Chapel for that period. There is a sign-up sheet in the Meditation Chapel. Thank you!

Interested in Becoming Catholic?

Are you simply curious about our faith?
Do you know someone who is interested in becoming Catholic?
Do you want to increase your knowledge of Catholicism?

If so, please contact Fr. Matthew in the Campus Ministry office. Our classes will be meeting most Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to about 8pm beginning September 10. If this day and time does not fit your academic schedule other arrangements can be pursued, so please don’t allow the schedule conflict to become an obstacle. Through the grace of God we welcomed 8 young adults into the Church last year! We’d love to have another BIG year!
